I’ve always been fascinated with fondue. I don’t know if it’s the chocolate, or dipping your food into something surprisingly good; but I’ve always enjoyed the fondue experience (I’m such a dipper when it comes to food *laughs*). During my online travels (being on the internet is like traveling for me), I discovered this wonderful Fondue recipe that I knew I had to share with my blogging family. The recipe “Coconut Cajeta & Chocolate Fondue” created by Amanda & Merrill and featured on Food52.com, really sounds delicious.
Now I don’t know if you’re dippers like me, but I can’t wait to try this and have a relaxing evening enjoying my fondue. Fondue can also be sensual, but I don’t think I want to hear anybody’s story on how sensual right now *laughs*. I hope you enjoy this recipe and I wish you a wonderful Friday ![]()

We haven’t done a fondue in years. Actually I think we only fondued once or twice, but it was fun. My favorite fondue memory was a dinner party we went to where we had all different kinds of fondue – beer cheese, oil for all kinds of meats and veggies and then the chocolate for dessert. Good times!
#2 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 12:36 PM
That dinner party sounds like a lot of fun. There is a restaurant here that offers the same fondue experience. You start off with cheese fondue with fruit, then you go to cooking your meats and veggies in fondue, then you have a chocolate fondue course for dinner. It’s quite expensive here lol, but I’ve gone twice and had a lot of fun. I hope you and your family have a great weekend and Happy Easter

You know it is a real ego stopper to ask a woman if she had a choice between sex and chocolate which she would choose. Overwhelmingly it is the latter. Us guys would prefer that you answered the former but Oh Well.
Blessings on you and yours

Oh John lol. What am I going to do with you lol. I think if a woman had a great partner and she was fulfilled, she would love both chocolate and making love without choosing one over the other. That’s a lot of pressure on a man to be exceptional in bed, I know. But all it takes is for you to listen to what she wants and you will never be ahead of chocolate again lol. I hope you enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter

Woah, changing the subject… Do you remember the episode of That 70s Show where the parents have the fondue party and everyone keeps getting burned or dropping their food? I tried to YouTube it, but couldn’t find it. That show did have its moments. I like the combination of coconut, caramel, a little salt and chocolate. And much obliged for posting a recipe! (Did I use that correctly, still trying to get these Southern terms down.)
#6 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 1:44 PM
Hey Rufus. I FOUND THE EPISODE lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwWLnf3ZPOY&feature=fvwrel. The funny fondue scene starts at 2:42 lmao. Hilarious. And I’m glad you like the fondue recipe
. And yes, you are getting the southern accent down great! lol. I hope you and your wife have a great weekend and Happy Easter!

This sounds delicious. I still have a brand new fondue pot that we received as a wedding gift. I hope it still works – we got married in ’04! *lol*
#10 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 2:36 PM
Congrats on your marriage! I know I’m late but I still wanted to congratulate you. You should bring out that wedding gift and try it. I love fondue and it can be romantic when you know what you’re doing
. I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter!

This sounds great! I have a tiny slow cooker that I use for chocolate fondue and it is so good. But this sounds better… thank you for sharing!

Looks tasty! I’m a virgin to fondue, but we’ve got a restaurant here in Orlando called the Melting Pot. I’ll have to go check it out sometime.
#14 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 11:30 PM
I’ve been to the melting pot and it’s a great restaurant. It’s kinda expensive here so I’ve only gone when they have had deals (signed up for their customer email thingy). The experience was a great one there. Let me know if you go
. I hope you enjoy your weekend

Oooh, this looks gooood! I love the coconut chocolate combination, reminds me of an Almond Joy bar. You know, I have never tried making fondue maybe because I don’t have a fondue pot. Actually, I’ve only had chocolate fondue 2 times in my life….. I really need to get out more!
You make me laugh when you talked about your online travels!
I’m going to have to use that line! Ha! Have a great weekend!
#16 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 11:33 PM
I didn’t think of that Lisa, it does. I love chocolate fondue and the cheese and oil versions as well. It’s really fun and can be very romantic. Do I hear a date night for Lisa and her husband? lol. And yes I have online travels and I know you do too lol. I wish you and your family a wonderful Easter

#18 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 11:41 PM

strawberry and chocolate fondue is the last time I had fondue (in the office!) i think they feed us so we work longer…Lol. Perks but ahhh, i rather go home. Anyhoo- I hope you try it and let us know… Have a lovely weekend!
#20 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 22, 2011 - 11:43 PM
LMAO. They tried to trick you with food LOL. In my mind I think all companies should provide food in the office but that won’t make me stay either lol. I tried this fondue before and I thought it was delicious (had something similar at a restaurant). I skipped the coconut because I didn’t like it. I hope you and your family enjoy this weekend

When I was little, we did the oil and steak thing a lot. My mom made sure that the pot matched our ’70′s burnt orange kitchen appliances. Go figure. In last few years I have been meaning to buy one, and now that I see this, the chocolate aspect will get me to buy one sooner than later. Nice post.
#24 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 23, 2011 - 3:12 PM
Burnt Orange was definitely in the 70′s lol. My mom had a blue kitchen (this is what she tells me lol). I always wanted to buy a fondue pot too but couldn’t find any good fondue recipes, until now. I’m going to get me one. I think you and your wife may enjoy it
.. see the smile lol. Enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter if you celebrate

I’ve never fondued at home but everyone I know says it’s just as much fun. I loved fondue at the restaurant I went to as well. I think you and the hubby will have a lot of fun if you try it out. And you’re right, no good movies girl. Enjoy your weekend
#27 by Katherine on April 23, 2011 - 12:31 PM
I think with the coconut flavor I’d prefer the cake bites or pineapple as you suggested. But any excuse to eat strawberries at this time of year is welcome. Have a great weekend Kay and thanks for your Easter wishes.
#28 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 23, 2011 - 3:21 PM
You’re right, strawberries with this would be divine. I think it’s time for a brand new fondue set for me lol. Oh your welcome
. I love spring time holidays.. now if only it could be warm here in NYC… I’d be happy lol.

…Fondue anytime! One of my favorite restaurants is the Melting Pot…I am dying to go there again (its $$$) but a great experience. My husband was like..you pay that much and you have to cook your own food? lol But the best part was the appetizer and the dessert fondues…OMG…I need to go back there!
#30 by Kay aka Babygirl on April 23, 2011 - 3:24 PM
Girl I just told someone that in a comment. I went to the Melting Pot too.. in Hoboken though. I signed up for their customer appreciation thing and you get to know their deals but sometimes the deals are still high. And everyone always says that about cooking their own food LMAO. We should have a girls night once and go there. Some girls night are cheaper. Sign up for their email alerts to get the deals they run.

I’d love it with white chocolate. My sister has a chocolate fountain, but it’s quite a lot of work to get it clean again.
Happy Easter, Kay

I LOVE chocolate fountains but they are a pain in the you know what to clean LOL. My mom has a small one and we rarely use it because it’s a pain to clean. But I plan on getting me a fondue set
. Happy Easter girl
