Paper Couture

You all know I love paper sculptures, but I was fortunate enough to find a fashionable dress and shirt made out of paper. Matthew Brodie’s dresses were featured in Madame Magazine back in 2011 and I see why they were chosen.. they’re unique. I would’ve never thought you could make stylish dresses like this from paper, but I guess I was wrong. And each piece, to me, doesn’t even look as if it was made from paper. I just love the pencil shredder dress and the colorful shirt.. genius. Click the link to view more. Enjoy
*NOTE: I won’t be able to answer every comment, like I normally do, due to me having to unexpectedly travel for 3 days. I will, however, take the time out to view all of your wonderful blogs instead (smiles). Everything will be back to normal next week.. I promise (smiles)

    • Hi Ashley :). It does seem like it would get caught in an air duct or something lol. But, if a well controlled environment, I think you can shock everyone with this paper shirt :). Thank you so much for visiting my blog, come back and rant with us anytime. I hope you have a good day :)

    • Hi Zannyro :). I’m so glad you enjoyed this post and that you found me as well. I love meeting new people on this blog and I have to say I enjoyed your blog as well :). Thank you so much for visiting my blog, come back and rant with us anytime. I hope you have a good day :)

  1. Considering how easy it is to apply color and texture to paper, it’s a wonder we don’t see more of it as a “textile.” These here are beautiful examples of its possibilities. Thanks for sharing!

    • Hi MakeupByKimB :). I am learning, you can do so much with paper. If you do a search on paper, on this blog, you will see all the other paper art I’ve posted. I think you will love it :). Thank you so much for visiting my blog, come back and rant with us anytime. I hope you have a good day :)

  2. OOO!!! I love paper!! That pencil shavings dress is the most creative dress I recall seeing. I would totally own one of these just to say I did and no one that knows me would be surprised. I LOVE paper!

  3. I’ve never been a fan of “useless” fashion – I mean, sure – it’s cool, but it doesn’t actually serve a purpose… I’d like to see what happens if you wear this out in the rain :D – As I said though, it does look cool – really colourful and fancy schmanz :)

  4. Wow! I didn’t think you could do this with paper, can’t help but think of the danger of paper cuts though :-) Still, amazing creations!
