I love completing DIY projects when I have the time. And if they pass the ‘easy’ test, than usually I will try them out. Recently, I’ve been looking for a unique way to display my jewelry. I knew I didn’t want a jewelry box because I tend to forget what accessories I have if I don’t see them. So if you’re like me, try out this DIY.. you’ll love it. Oh and one more thing.. this week is ‘Inspiration Week‘.. Enjoy!

Wood Framed Cork Board
Linen Fabric
Nails or Staple Gun
Scissors
Furniture tacks or Thumb tacks
1. If you have pre-cut linen fabric, that is sized to fit your cork board already, proceed to Step 2.
If your fabric isn’t pre-cut… Drape the linen fabric over the cork board. Keep in mind, the fabric has to cover the front of the cork-board completely; the back of the cork-board will not be seen, so its fine if your fabric is uneven in the back. Cut the fabric.
2. Cover the front of the wood framed cork-board with the fabric evenly (for a seamless look). Then attach the access fabric to the back of the board with a nail or staple gun. You don’t need to be neat in the back, because no one will see it.
3. Evenly space the furniture tacks or thumb tacks to the front of the board. Furniture tacks work better, than thumb tacks, if you have heavier accessories (they won’t buckle under pressure). Make sure not to overlap your furniture tacks or thumb tacks. Think about the length of your necklaces, earrings, etc.. to help you figure out the spacing. Just push the tacks into the cork board and you’re done with that step.
4. If you want to add a cute factor to this board, you can use another piece of fabric or ribbon to drape on either the left or right side of this board. If you decide to hang this.. purchase a sawtooth picture hanger from a hardware store OR 3M Command Picture Hangers if you don’t want to leave holes in your walls. Simple & great DIY (smiles).

What a beautiful idea ! I found a store in Singapore that sells those carousel holders for earrings and it’s the best thing I have ever bought – I can always see what earrings I have and they don’t end up as single earrings

Love it! I also love displaying my goods. Chances are, when the items were purchased it was because the were beautiful and inspiring. So why hide them?! Good job Kay!

Fantastic! My mom displays her jewelry. She has a dresser with a mirror attachment on top and she hangs all her necklaces from the top of the mirror hood. I love this bulletin board idea.

I love it! I have all my jewelry hanging on hooks too. Like you, if I don’t see it, I don’t wear it. This looks beautiful too. What a great idea, Kay!

This is quite nice Kay. Sheila’s birthday is coming soon, and I think this would be a nice addition to my gifts.

Great idea Kay! I use to sell Premier Designs Jewelry and I would use an old picture frame to display the jewelry. I’d use a thick pretty fabric with embellished push pins to display at my jewelry shows.
