Family Design

Do you ever find yourself looking at the design magazines while you’re in a long line trying to pay for your purchases? Yeah, me too (laughs). And every-time this happens, I always find a new design team that I feel should decorate the home in my head (laughs). The mother and two daughter team of M.Elle Design, incorporates a certain casual chic-ness (yes I made up that word) into every room. Not to mention, they’ve solved the issue of how to place four kids, into ONE room stylishly (see above). I love this design team. Enjoy!

My brother has 4 children so that fist picture would be perfect for him.
Such warming and inviting pictures. :-) Mandy

I can just hear the giggles coming from that children’s room! How fun would that be?! (until you hit the years where you want privacy!)

I have heard of these two somewhere, I love the beds, do you know that i am presently designing a tiny summerhouse for my mother in law to retire to when she is older, so when you are looking through all these fantastic mags let me know if you come across any ideas. It will be small, perfect, shabby chic and surrounded in decks and covered verandahs, that join it to the main house, just right for being older and quieter.. so keep an eye out kay, i cannot think of anyone more onto the design scene than you.. have a lovely day.. c

It’s the island and lighting fixtures that is making me swoon and wish upon a star. Just lovely. Such a subtle and calming palette yet artistic and interesting. LOVE IT! :)

I tend to look at the food magazines more when I’m in line ;-) but this, this is GORgeous! Every room is enchanting… the colours, the lines, the peacefulness…

Wow how great are those bunk beds?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen ones so stylish. And that kitchen island!!! *swooning*

There’s a real symmetry to their designs which I find very attractive. I’d never use that wood for the fire, though, for fear of not being able to replace it in kind. The “real” firewood would be in a closet somewhere. :)

The first picture looks like those little bed hotels in Japan. Its just bed spot. Have you ever seen them before?

You know my eyes hit the kitchen!! Love, love it!! But the wall of firewood is also so me. I’m missing having a real fireplace!!!
