My name is Kay (short for my real name), and I’m a graphic designer turned Art Director/Lifestyle blog Editor of Pure Complex (well that was a mouth full *laughs*). The tri-state area, of New York City, is my home and I’m always inspired by something I see on a daily basis. So I decided to take that inspiration, and feature it here. This space is a celebration of art and the artist behind each creation; whether it be interior design, photography, food, architecture, reviews, or everyday inspiration.. I hope you will leave with a smile on your face or a solution to any of your inspiration challenges.
Because I love to allow the art I find to shine, I often get asked the question.. “Who is Kay?” Well.. “Kay is a chic geek that loves art, obsessed with all things techy, adores all things cute or laid back, and has a heart of gold.” Family & great friends are important, having morals is important, and respecting others (because I demand that respect back) is also important to me. There are times, however, that an artist work will evoke wonderful memories; so a funny or heart-felt mini-story might appear and explain more about me and why I celebrate art.
As for the name of this blog.. well that’s another story (smiles). I chose the name, Pure Complex, because I believe art can be pure & beautiful.. with a hint of complexity that grabs your attention. And while you’re here, its okay to dream.
