Art / Imitating Life

Two weeks ago, I posted Belgium-based Artist Christiane Vleugels work during our Painting or Photo challenge. Since then, I’ve enjoyed viewing her art collection. Christiane’s ability to make each of her subjects appear as if you’re viewing a photographed moment, is sure to take your mind on an artistic journey. Her skills with shadowing and lighting are also remarkable. I could go on and on about her oil paintings, but I’d rather her work speak for itself. To view more, click the link above. Enjoy

Art / Watercolor Beauty

I LOVED art class in school. Anything to keep me away from math class was a treat. Although I never perfected my drawing hand (hey, I can draw a mean stick figure *laughs*), I always seemed to have an eye for art. And once I adore an artist, I tend to follow their art career as much as I can. Jessica Durrant, from Jessica’s Illustration, is one of those artist. She’s been featured here before and her watercolors seem to get better and better. I love seeing strong women in art. Click on her Etsy Shop link above to see some of her affordable pieces. Happy Tuesday!

Art / Wooden Beauty

I love finding unusual, exciting, and unique art on the internet. So when I found this I got so excited that I immediately wrote a post and published it (okay, I was a little more excited than usual *laughs*). Did you know wooden coffee stirrers, woven together, could create this? I didn’t either until I found North Carolina-based Artist Jonathan Brilliant’s art installation (via Tumblr). Who knew! I can’t stop starring at this, so I think I should end this post by saying.. Enjoy (smiles).

Capture / Pairings

I fancy myself a photographer from time to time, but I don’t believe I could ever become a food photographer. Why? Well let’s be honest, I’d probably sample/eat the food before capturing it (that’s if it’s not prop food *laughs*). Which is why I give food photographers, like Kyle Dreier, so much credit (because I couldn’t do it *laughs*). He created this amazing project entitled Pairings, that is visually wonderful and will be sure to make you hungry while viewing it. Now if only I could get that brownie out of my head.. Enjoy
