Old-Fashioned Apple Spice Cake
Posted by Purely.. Kay in The Kitchen on October 5, 2012
Today’s theme is all about ‘cake‘.. and I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t feature this amazing dessert that’s had me drooling since last week (smiles). This Old-Fashioned Apple Spice Cake recipe comes from my fav spot, Food52. This cake just screams “Make me” and I will oblige and make this just for me (okay, maybe I will share). But I can definitely see this cake being made for a family get together. Don’t ya just love it when you bake and the whole house smells wonderful? I love that about fall. Applesauce Cake w/Caramel Glaze
Posted by Purely.. Kay in The Kitchen on October 5, 2012
I’ve never been a HUGE cake person (preferring ice cream over cake), but I do LOVE chocolate cake. And I can eat that cake all day long. So in the spirit of great desserts, today’s theme is all about, you guessed it, ‘Cake‘. And these aren’t your average cakes… like this amazing Applesauce Cake with Caramel Glaze recipe from Food52. I just love the applesauce in this recipe.. and that glaze. Yes, I’m stopping myself from drooling right now (I drool way too much when looking at delicious desserts) and stepping away from the PC. Caramel Apples

Do you remember going to the state fair, or carnival, with your parents and riding on all the rides you were tall enough to get on? Yeah, me too (smiles). And I don’t think anyone could ever forget the food. So, in honor of all the grown ups that were once kids, today’s theme is all about “Summer Fun.. When we were Young“. And I couldn’t stop myself from featuring the decadence of this Caramel Apple recipe from Serious Eats. Just looking at these apples bring back memories; and hopefully, by making these, you can form new memories with your family. Remember when I said I’m not a traditional apple pie eater in the last post? Well, I think this wonderful dessert can back up my claim (smiles). As you know, today is all about ‘Apples‘ and I absolutely love this Layered Apple Pie recipe from the blog Dashing Dish. Even though spring is approaching, I think this dessert could be made any time of the year. And I can see anyone wowing their family members, friends, or boss with this delectable treat during a dinner party. This is definitely ‘I want a promotion dessert‘. Crockpot Caramel Apple Crumble

I grew up respecting and loving the Crock Pot. You couldn’t tell my mom (nor my grandmother) that it wasn’t the greatest invention known to man (laughs). And since spring is approaching, I thought I’d feature one last winter-like, decadent recipe. Today is all about “Apples” and I LOVE this Crockpot Caramel Apple Crumble recipe from the blog How Sweet It Is. Believe it or not, I am not a traditional apple pie eater, so this dish is right up my alley. Yeah.. I’m totally hungry. View the ingredient list below and click the link for the recipe. Another apple recipe coming up..
