Homemade Icees
Posted by Purely.. Kay in The Kitchen on July 6, 2012
Just like I remember the ice cream man, I remember the Icee truck (smiles). I still love the taste of a homemade fruit icee on a hot summer day. And since today is all about Frozen Drinks, I was fortunate to find this easy and delicious Homemade Icees recipe from the blog Semi Homemade Mom. The photo above may not be huge, but this frozen drink is calling me. And I’m sure all of you can think of ways to transform this icee, and the previously posted one, into a grown up treat. We’ll leave this version for the kids and non-drinkers alike (smiles). View the ingredient list below and click the link for the recipe. Happy Friday

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade
Posted by Purely.. Kay in The Kitchen on July 6, 2012
The fourth of July is over, family members are on their way home, and it’s still hot (laughs). I love summer, but sometimes the weather can be draining. To combat the tired or sleepy feeling, I’ve decided to make today’s theme all about.. Frozen Drinks. Don’t get too happy, I’m not featuring margaritas (you know I don’t drink *laughs*). Instead, I found this wonderful Homemade McD’s Frozen Strawberry Lemonade from the beautiful blog Real Mom Kitchen. Since I’m thirsty, I think I will go ahead and make this right now (smiles). Yes, today’s Food Friday is all about “Grown-Up Cocktails” (so if you wanted to see a food recipe, come back next week *laughs*). And I absolutely love this Blackberry Lemonade recipe from the amazing blog, with the cute name, The Pastry Affair. This particular drink doesn’t have any alcohol in the ingredients (which is perfect for me), but I’m sure you can pair these flavors with some wonderful alcoholic choices.. so tell me some of your choices below. It’s food Friday!! But I thought I’d do something different today.. there will be no food (can you imagine saying that to a crowd of hungry children *laughs*). Instead, today’s theme is all about “Grown-Up Cocktails“. And I found this Strawberry Champagne Slushie recipe from the wonderful blog Une Vie Saine. This is such a perfect grown up slushie to enjoy; and this can also be a cool wedding shower/wedding drink as well. Yes, I know I don’t drink.. but I do like some champagnes.. so I will be trying this. View the ingredient list below and click the link for the recipe. 1 more recipe coming up..

Concord Grape and Lemon Soda
Posted by Purely.. Kay in The Kitchen on March 2, 2012
Hello.. my name is Kay and I’m a non-alcoholic drinker (laughs). But seriously, most of the women in my family do not drink and I guess I take after that trait. So keeping with today’s theme, I found another amazing ‘Non-Alcoholic‘ drink recipe.. Concord Grape and Lemon Soda from Food52. One of the things I love about this recipe, is that they use concord grapes instead of using simple grape soda. If you want to spruce this drink up, vodka probably would go nicely (just because I don’t drink, doesn’t mean I’m not knowledgeable about drinks
). View the ingredient list below and click above for the recipe. Happy Friday
