Winter, Vacation, and Vintage

One day after the Blizzard of 2010, here in NYC, life is calm, somewhat impatient, and for me hopeful. Why am I so hopeful after one of the worst blizzards to hit NYC? I will be attending a wedding on New Year’s Eve, and that means VACATION! Well a small one, but a vacation none-of-the-less.
I will be traveling to Atlanta on Wednesday, by plane, and going to the wedding of a family member. Luckily, I shopped for the perfect look in the summer so I don’t have to endure the high prices for new year’s party dresses. My entire outfit, complete with shoes and clutch, cost less than $100. How did I do that? Simple, as my mother would say “You have to know how to shop“.
I visited websites, I know, have more bang for your buck. What about other accessories? Well I buy accessories throughout the year (when stores have sales) so when I have an event, I have just the right accessory on hand. No extra cost there. Perfect! Here is what I bought:

1. A dress from the website Modcloth.com. They have vintage and timeless dresses made by up and coming designers for less. They don’t sell a lot of pieces which means, when you buy anything from this website, only a few people in the world will have the same thing you own. Couture on a budget!
2. When I needed a clutch to match this dress, I went to my FAV store Forever 21 for an inexpensive option. And here is what I found, a glittery clutch that sets off my shoes. Nice!
3. Carlos Santana Feather shoes from my other FAV store Marshalls. Marshalls have designer shoes FOR LESS. This shoe is retailed at $95.00 and all I paid was $39.99.

So what do you think of my outfit? Let me know. Also, the blog will be updated while I am on vacation but I won’t be responding to every comment as usual. I will be back to respond to everyone on January 3, 2011. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Year. Au Revoir :)
